With the sudden death of my mp3 player, I'm quite motivated to get a new one, preferably able to play video files since it's a standard nowadays and is a really nice gadget once in a while. Lately I've been browsing sites and searching stores but what I want is your opinion on it cause it's always the best kind of help- to get recommendation from someone who uses the stuff, I mean. I've been thinking of buying Sony Walkman, E series. Looks really nice, the mark itself appeals to me but I don't know anyone who has been in contact with it so I don't wanna go for it just yet. My budget is around 60/70 EUR. So, what could you advise me? Which models have you tested or what kind of a player do you own now?
haha ok
also there are better options, ipod just has a huge share of the market.
not really a problem for me anyway since I only listen to whole albums or not at all
- encrypted firmware with latest generation - forced to use shitty ipod software as opposed to better alternatives like rockbox
- fucking quiet and can't drive low impedance headphones without a headphone amp (even senn HD series, grado SR etc)
- can no longer use the scrollwheel if it's not your skin touching it.... ITS FUCKING WINTER I WANT TO WEAR FUCKING GLOVES WHYYYYY WOULD YOU CHANGE THIS
- firmware updates can only be done through iTunes
and my play button is already pretty fucked up after a year which makes turning it off a bitch (still looks near-new)
you get what you pay for, I should've gone Cowon/iRiver/etc
i have a ipod nano and its a really good quality n stuff :)
i need a new mp3 player 2 and i think ill buy the creative x-fi with 16 or 32gb
They looks nice, but their sound quality isn't that good (creative and sony are way better) and the way the iPod works in general just sucks.
Almost forced to use iTunes, and iTunes doesn't even work properly on Win XP 64bit (not that many people use it but still apple failed bigtime on this one)
And btw don't get a Zune like razien says, it's Microsoft so epic fail.
