Poland flew to the victory, winning every single match in the tournament!
Being weakened, without Swiderski, Winiarski or Wlazly, our very own national team crushed the European Championship, even though we were said to reach the top four at best with the players Castellani was able to gather.
Great final against the French who as well played an amazing game!
I must say that today is the day to be proud of the sports in our country, especially after the epic failure of our football team. Our volleyball players have made me just so unbelievably proud and screaming of joy during the whole tournament. I even woke up my neighbours with my shouting after winning the matchball but after they'd seen the reason behind this joy-shouting, they kinda joined me :D.
Seeing my fellow countrymen being decorated with gold, hearing that Zagumny gets the best setter award, watching Gruszka being chosen the MVP of the tournament and listening to our Polish anthem with our players rising the golden cup, I almost fell into tears :'(.
What Zagumny did, was also a great gesture. Wearing Swiderski's shirt during the decoration display showed the true spirit of the Polish team and was a greeat tribute to the great players who couldn't be with the team in Izmir.
Thanks for those amazing moments, I'm proud of you, my golden volleyballers <333.

although fin was kinda good at it, I still don't like that sport too much :p
gratz for your win though :)
what do ww2 and volleyball got in common?
because apparently u are the only one to see it
But you're right. I hate a lot of thing about our country, or more exactly about people here, but I can't be even close to the right guess when it comes to jumping, drinking or hugging of joy with people I see for the first time in my life after matches. I guess we're born with that attitude towards sports, always staying together when we lose and making a great noise when we win :D. But I take it a good quality of ours :p.
MOI TAPSA :))))))
